Behind all the colourful smoke and razzle dazzle from the plethora of neon lights burning brightly from these blog pages, is a rookie blogger writer, slowly feeling & fumbling his pre-pubescent way with it all, playing with all his new found little web toys and gadgets here, trying to find vent & purpose for his naturally creative, artistic, architectural bent of an imagination…whilst simultaneously having to wrestle with an often manic & unplugged sense of humour that constantly threatens to burst right out of its seam worn old straight jacket and thence run naked & amok amongst you till someone shoots it with a dart again …at any given moment. Good luck, and don’t say I didn't warn you…Kay! (?) Don't forget to leave a comment - long or short, I'll always respond to them, as soon as I get back here.

“Sea Lion Woman"

In 1939, in Byhalia Mississippi - Herbert Halpert made a series of field recordings with the family of Walter and Mary Shipp, who had 14 children. Two of them - Christine and Katherine were the real standout jewels, delivering several rope-skipping rhymes including the beautifully haunting and mysterious fragment called..."Sea Lion Woman."

In 1998, ‘Greg Hale Jones’ looped the original field recording of the song, in order to lengthen it, then added electronically enhanced ambience to the background, and placed it into the opening moments of the soundtrack to the film - ‘The General's Daughter’. I became instantly captivated from the moment the film began.
